I love this photo, Anne, because of the associations of a Ferris wheel; you remember the film "The Third Man" with Orson Wells, the Italian actress, Valli, and Joseph Cotton? And of course I remember many Ferris wheels from my childhood when carnivals would visit Hyannis in the summer when getting some cotton candy and a ride on the Ferris wheel were the biggest thrills. That's exactly the power of the photograph - the power to evoke memory. We are esentially emotional creatures with only a veneer of intellect over our emotion-powered humanity. Thanks so much for this wonderful photo!
